Oscar Pistorius, the convicted murderer and former Paralympic athlete, is reportedly in a new relationship, just months after being released from prison on parole, reports Cape {town} Etc.
The 38-year-old Pistorius, who served time for the 2013 murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, is said to have found love with 33-year-old Rita Greyling, a business management consultant who bears a remarkable resemblance to the deceased Steenkamp.
Pistorius, who was granted parole on January 5, 2024, after serving part of his sentence for the tragic killing of Steenkamp, has long maintained that he shot and killed the 29-year-old model and law graduate by mistake, believing she was an intruder behind a locked bathroom door. The shooting, which occurred on Valentine’s Day 2013, shocked the nation and the world, leading to Pistorius’ imprisonment for culpable homicide, later upgraded to murder.
A new chapter for Pistorius
Sources close to the couple have confirmed to Netwerk24 that Pistorius and Greyling are in a romantic relationship. Greyling’s brother, Ghini, was involved in a devastating incident at Henbase Lodge near Morgenzon in November 2022, when 29-year-old Willem Kruger from Groblersdal drowned during a party. Despite the police’s statement in December 2023 that the investigation into Kruger’s death had shifted from an accidental drowning to a murder inquiry, the family has expressed frustration, with many questions still unanswered about the circumstances surrounding Kruger’s untimely death.
