Oscar Pistorius, who shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013, sent her parents a “distressing” letter as part of his bid for parole, the Daily Mirror reports.
Even though the family lawyer, Tania Koen, expressed that they cannot reveal the contents of the letter, it’s been said that it was like “ripping a Band-Aid off a wound”.
They were distressed when it emerged that the date of Oscar’s eligibility for parole had been amended and had been told he would not be released until after March 2023.

Meanwhile, the parents of Reeva Steenkamp said that as time goes by, the hurt of losing their daughter becomes tougher, and therefore they demand the truth of what exactly happened that day and that Pistorius must pay for what he has done, reports IOL.
“One day I would like to talk to Oscar, man-to-man. We feel there are still a lot of things to come out of this story and we are hoping that Oscar will tell us the truth,” said Reeva’s father, Barry Steenkamp.
In an interview with Good Morning Britain, the Steenkamps were asked if they thought Oscar felt any remorse for what he has done and Barry said that it was a very difficult question to respond to.
However, Reeva’s mother, June Steenkamp says Oscar Pistorius has shown no remorse, an apology is not enough and she wants him to serve the entire 13-year sentence.
Pistorius has recently transferred to a prison in Gqeberha where deceased Reeva’s parents live and will soon come face to face with them before being considered for parole.
This is a developing story.
