A 40-year-old man was left critically injured after he was hit by a taxi on Koeburg Road in Milnerton on Tuesday, 10 May.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring, when ER24 arrived at 7.20 am the Milnerton Fire Services was already in attendance. Meiring reported that medics found a man in the middle of the road while the taxi involved in the incident was parked on the side of the road.
“Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a serious head injury, leaving him in a critical condition. The man was treated and provided with life support before being transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent care,” said Meiring.
Meiring further mentioned that the driver of the taxi escaped injury. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
In a separate incident, a man believed to be in his thirties was also involved in a collision on Tuesday when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on Malibongwe Road in Dunoon.
According to reports, ER24 and the Milnerton Fire Services found the man lying in the middle of the road. The man was then assessed by medics and found in a critical condition, having sustained numerous injuries.
He was then treated and provided with advanced life support before being transported to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent care; unfortunately, after some time in the hospital, the man succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead.
