The government gazette detailing conditions for personal care services and tattoo studios to reopen on Level 3 has officially been released.

Personal care salons offering hair and facial treatments, haircuts and body massages are officially allowed to reopen alongside tattoo parlours, following the release of government guidelines on Friday, June 19.

The gazette details specific safety protocols that these establishments must adhere to when welcoming patrons for the first time following the nationwide lockdown.

The following categories of services have been deemed safe to resume operations:

– Hairdressing;

– Barbering;

– Nail and toe treatment;

– Facial treatment and make-up;

– Body massage; and

– Tattooing and body piercing.

Along with the gazette, Small Business Development Minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has urged establishments with owners or employees above age 60 or who have co-morbidities to discourage their staff from working.
