The Automobile Association has made a recent announcement that will be music to Cape Town motorists’ ears: latest data suggests the price of fuel may drop by 90 cents per litre.

Diesel and illuminating paraffin are predicted to drop by 70 cents and 62 cents respectively. According to the AA, these prices can be attributed to “retreating oil prices”.

“If the rand holds where it is at the moment or it strengthens and the international oil prices remain or get better, then obviously the outlook will be better going into July. We are confident we will have a decrease,” Layton Beard, AA spokesperson, said to EWN.
