Pigcasso’s name is in the spotlight after making history with her Wild and Free abstract painting, which sold for a record-breaking £20,000 (more than R400 000)!
The masterpiece was sold to a German investor named Peter Esser, and breaks the record of £14,000 for an animal artwork set by chimp in Congo in 2005.
This talented, world-renowned and much-loved South African artist was saved from the slaughter a month after birth in 2016 and has created over 400 spectacular artworks since.
Pigcasso’s official Facebook page states that Wild and Free was “Inspired by the Cape’s wild and dynamic ocean landscape and extending the vision of freedom and wild abandon for all across the canvas of possibility,” while the talent was described as “Poetry in Motion”, and we can see why! Gentle strokes of the brush makes this porktrait a beauty indeed!
Pigcasso, along with her owner Joanne Lefson lives in the Franschhoek Valley of South Africa at Farm Sanctuary, where proceeds from the sale go.
