A dangerous pipe burst has resulted in the formation of a sinkhole on the road surface of the busy Langverwacht Road at the corner of Plantanus Street in Kuilsriver, Cape Town.
Ward 11 councillor Wouter de Vos has urged motorists to please avoid the area if at all possible or to find an alternative route.

Taking to social media, de Vos shared a video of the sinkhole’s location. At the time, de Vos had used his motorbike and danger tape to cordon off the area.
As a result of the lane being inaccessible, motorists can expect possible delays and traffic.
De Vos said the pipe burst has been reported and City of Cape Town traffic services have been requested to attend to the scene.
