Several communities across the Western Cape have been affected by destructive rain and strong winds after the first cold front moved through the province on Saturday.
The South African Weather Service warned that the province could experience disruptive rainfall, damaging winds and dangerous sea conditions between 10 and 12 May.
‘The public and small stock farmers are advised that bitterly cold, wet and windy conditions can be expected,’ the weather service said in its latest advisory.
Local authorities and disaster management teams remain on high alert as storm-related incidents continue to be reported across affected areas.
Motorists have been urged to drive cautiously on waterlogged roads and avoid areas where trees, debris or flooding may pose a danger.
Residents are also being encouraged to secure loose outdoor items and remain indoors where possible while strong winds continue across parts of the province.
