Simon’s Town police are calling on the community to assist them in locating 35-year-old Bonginkosi Nkambule, who has been reported missing since Friday, 12 December 2025.
Nkambule, an officer in the South African Navy, was last seen leaving his workplace in Simon’s Town, dressed in his navy uniform, reports Cape {town} Etc.
Alarmingly, he failed to report for duty the following day, raising concerns among colleagues and loved ones.
Despite an extensive investigation, authorities have not been able to track down Nkambule. The investigating officer has diligently followed up on all potential leads, but so far, these efforts have yielded no results.
The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are concerning, and the police are eager to uncover any information that could assist in his safe return.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg emphasised the importance of community involvement in missing person cases. ‘Anyone with information who can assist with the investigation or who knows the whereabouts of the missing person is kindly requested to contact the investigating officer Detective Sergeant Portia Pitsi directly on 079 894 1302 or 082 559 4609. Alternatively, they can reach out to Crime Stop at 08600 10111,’ said Twigg.
