Police believe a serial killer may be stalking the community of Kraaifontein after another body was found in a shallow dam.
The victim has not yet been identified but it is reported that he was found with both hands and feet bound by ropes and wires.
The body was discovered on 18 September near Nuutgewek farm in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, as per IOL.
“Officers were called to the scene at about 12.30pm, and upon arrival they found the body of an unknown man floating in a dam.
“The recovery of the body required responding officers to acquire the services of the SAPS Provincial Diving unit to retrieve the body,” said police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi.
The motive for the attack is still unknown. This is reportedly the second body which has been found with the victim’s hands and feet bound.
While police suspect a serial killer, community leaders in Kraaifontein believe the killings are likely vigilante justice.
Wallacedene Development Forum secretary Masilakhe Ngqebe has stated that the killings have been done by individuals who are exacting revenge on criminals they fell victim to.
However, Ngqebe condemned the killings and stated that we could not live in a society which could play judge and executioner as it pleased.
