Sergeant Wesley Twigg told Smile 90.4FM that they ‘ […]could not give an account for the liquor in the vehicle.’
The suspects were charged with illegal manufacturing and distribution of liquor. Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the arrests and the seizure of stock and equipment.

The discovery fits a pattern of similar operations uncovered across the province this year.
In October, investigators shut down a large-scale illegal plant that spanned Faure and Woodstock and seized industrial bottling machinery, chemicals and pre-packaged counterfeit liquor.

In September, SAPS found another facility in Klapmuts and arrested seven people after seizing ethanol and industrial containers.
Western Cape police say they will continue targeted operations to stop the production and distribution of illicit alcohol. Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile said: ‘Operations of this nature will continue in earnest.’
Illegal manufacture puts communities at risk. Police urge anyone with information about illicit liquor trade to contact their nearest station.
