President Cyril Ramaphosa was tested for COVID-19 and his results have come back negative. The President’s physicians advised that he go for testing as a precautionary measure, according to BizNews.

The President is constantly in contact with other people through public engagements and meetings. His role as Head of State and Chair of the National Command Council (NCC) are synonymous with him being around people and thus putting his health at risk.

President Ramaphosa felt it necessary to share his bill of good health with the public as a form of reassurance for the nation.
