Lady Amelia Spencer, the niece of Princess Diana, is engaged to her long-time South African sweetheart, Greg Mallett. On July 22, Mallett popped the question at Clouds Wine & Guest Estate in Stellenbosch.

The cousin of Princes William and Prince Harry, and daughter of Charles Spencer and Victoria Aitken, has been dating Mallett for 11 years. The pair met while studying at the University of Cape Town.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate the news, Mallett posted a series of photos showing off their happiness.

“So this was the best day of my life. 22nd of July 2020, I asked the love of my life to spend the rest of her life with me and she said YES. Couldn’t be happier and I love you with all my heart,” wrote Mallett.

Lady Amelia, along with her twin sister Eliza, elder sister Kitty, and younger brother Louis, grew up in Cape Town.

After the announcement of the engagement, congratulations poured in. Amongst the congratulations, was one from Charles Spencer himself.

“So happy for my daughter, Amelia, engaged to her boyfriend of 11 years, Greg – it’s wonderful to hear them both so excited about their future. Sending them both love, and every good wish for their life together. I love that Greg asked my blessing before proposing. Very sweet,” he wrote on Twitter.
