Kandis Starr, an American psychic, claims to have established touch with the missing Joshlin Smith. Starr’s video featured a playhouse, a teddy bear, an image of Elmo from Sesame Street, and a manipulated photograph of Joshlin in which she claims to be channelling the missing girl, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The video was posted on TikTok over the weekend and is almost nine minutes long.
It has been seen over 80 000 times, has over 1 500 likes and 160 comments, and has been shared 180 times.
The Grade 1 student from Diazville Primary School in Saldanha Bay has been missing since February 19. She has been missing for 190 days.

Joshlin’s mother, Kelly Smith, her boyfriend, Jacquen ‘Boeta’ Appolis, Stevano van Rhyn, and Lourentia Lombaard are currently in custody for her disappearance.
The group is charged with kidnapping and trafficking in persons for the purpose of exploitation, and they are scheduled to appear in the Western Cape High Court on September 16 after the matter was first heard in the Vredenburg Magistrates’ Court.
The State claims Joshlin was sold for R20 000.
During the channelling session, Starr revealed that the teddy bear possessed a rem pod for paranormal research. When a spirit communicates, a static-like sound can be heard.
As she ‘speaks’ to Joshlin, Starr adds that, while she is aware that she has not yet been located, she wanted to ask some questions.
‘Were you put on a ship?’ Starr enquired, but there was no static-like response, which she clarified in the comments as no.
She went on to claim that her mother, Kelly, abandoned her with guys she thought she knew, and they harmed Joshlin; this time the static-like noise became louder.

When she was questioned if her mother was aware that these men were harming her, the ruckus erupted again. When asked if her mother knew where she was right now, she did not respond or make any noise.
When asked if witchcraft had been performed on her, a faint sound could be heard. When asked if it was Boeta and whether he had wounded Joshlin, the sound explodes once more.
Joshlin allegedly said yes when asked if Boeta’s friend (van Rhyn) helped her move and if her mother had ever hurt her.
During the session, Joshlin also ‘responded positively’ when asked if she had toys around, if she could play, and if she was happy.
Starr concludes the video by requesting viewers to post any intellectual questions they have for Joshlin about her whereabouts in the comments section, as if she were conducting a spirit box.
When asked about her desire for justice for Joshlin, Starr disclosed to her viewers that the young girl had died.
‘Channelling can be done on someone alive or passed.. when a spirit interacts with the rem pod aka teddy bear, they are passed.[sic]’
