The public is warned not to consume any fish or marine life that may wash up along the Garden Route coastline due to dangers posed by a red tide.

According to SABC News, the red tide has been observed along the coastline between the Storms River Mouth to Mossel Bay. It is characterised by the uncontrolled growth of algae, which causes the change in water colour.
Red tides can pose serious risks to human health and marine life.
Authorities are collecting samples from the affected areas for detailed analysis as a precautionary measure.
