The Western Cape Provincial detectives have called on the public for crucial assistance in solving the tragic killing of 49-year-old Farrington Mkutshulwa, Cape {town} Etc reports.
Mkutshulwa was shot dead in Makhaza, near the Ezimfeneni informal settlement in Enkanini, on the night of Friday, 17 January 2025.
Murder investigation underway
At approximately 11:30pm, Makhaza police responded to a complaint and discovered Mkutshulwa’s lifeless body at the scene. Medical personnel confirmed his death was due to gunshot wounds. The motive behind this brutal attack is currently under investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
Search for key witnesses
Four unidentified men have been named as persons of interest in connection with the crime. Detectives are eager to interview these individuals and are seeking any information that could help bring those responsible to justice.
In an effort to solve this case, the SAPS is offering a reward of up to R100 000 for information leading to the arrest and successful conviction of the suspects involved in Mkutshulwa’s death.
Appeal for public assistance
The SAPS urges anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
‘We appeal to anyone who can shed light on the circumstances surrounding this incident to please contact Crime Stop at 08600 10111,’ said the police statement.

The tragic death of Mkutshulwa has left the community in shock, and police are determined to find justice for his family and bring those responsible to account.
