Rail services experienced significant delays in Wellington following an incident at a level crossing near Paarl this morning.

While information is sparse at the moment, images indicate that the incident involved a VW Polo with a Worcester registration number and a metrorail train.
As of 8am this morning, commuters were urged to use alternate routes and forms of transportation and expect a residual delay of more than an hour.
Metrorail had not responded to media inquiries at the time of posting.
