In response to a huge number of requests from street racers for more #RobotRacing events in partnership with the City of Cape Town, Killarney Raceway has added four more dates to the roster for the first half of 2022.
Here’s the new-look Robot Racing calendar:
- Wednesday, 9 March
- Wednesday, 23 March
- Wednesday, 13 April
- Wednesday, 20 April
- Wednesday, 4 May
- Wednesday, 11 May
- Wednesday, 8 June
- Wednesday, 22 June
#RobotRacing is open to any person holding a valid South African driving licence, and any street-legal car or bakkie. Remember, if you can’t drive it to Robot Racing, you can’t drive it in the event. Each vehicle must pass a basic safety check before being allowed to participate and each driver must wear long pants, long sleeves, closed shoes and provide his or her own crash helmet.
Spectators are welcome. The entry fee is R70 for adults and free for children under 12 as well as WPMC members on production of their membership book at the gate on entry.
And best of all, there is still no extra charge to take part; you can enter at Gate 1 from 5:30pm on the evening of the event – just remember to bring along your driving licence.
Spectators are advised to purchase their tickets online via Computicket. Numbers at the gate are limited.
Once you have purchased your tickets online, you still have to collect the physical tickets, including the free tickets for children under 12, from Computicket or the Computicket outlet at the Money Market counter in your nearest Shoprite, Checkers, Checkers Hyper or Usave store.
Killarney cares about your health and well-being, so all competitors, crew members, officials and spectators are screened on entry, and you must wear a mask covering your nose and mouth, and keep a safety social distancing space of at least 1.5 metres between persons at all times.
