A relative has been identified as a ‘person of interest’ in the murder case of Jesse Hess, a former first year student at UWC and her grandfather, Chris. The two were found dead in their Parow flat on August 30 this year.

The person of interest, who is reportedly a cousin of Jesse, has also been linked to a rape and robbery which took place on Monday in Hanover Park. He is now on the run. Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said to News24: “Circumstantial evidence currently links him to the crimes.”

Earlier this year, after no arrests have been made, a crowdfunding page was started to help pay for a private investigator to look into the case.

Van Wyk urges anyone with information about the incident to kindly contact the investigation officer Detective Lt Col Adrian Pretorius on 082 777 8499 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
