Police in the Western Cape intend to lessen the illegal distribution of drugs in communities.
With the arrest of five men for dealing in drugs on separate charges, the team has been making progress on this front, Cape {town} Etc reports.

Late afternoon on Wednesday, 2 October, SAPS members received information involving a ‘suspicious’ VW Polo driving on the R60 towards Robertson.

Responding to the information received, the vehicle was stopped and searched, after it was found on the R60 near the police station.
The search revealed seven bags of compressed marijuana, worth approximately R140 000, which was then confiscated.
The two foreign national in possession of the dagga, males aged 29 and 31, were arrested on charges of dealing in drugs and contravention of the Immigration Act.
Once charged, the suspects are set to appear in the Robertson Magistrates’ Court.

In addition, members of the Atlantis Crime Prevention Unit, were informed of three males carrying large bags and acting nervously at a petrol station on the N7.
Team members quickly arrived on the scene where they found 90kg of dagga hidden in the area designated for trucks to park.
It was later discovered that the drugs had been transported from Namibia.
The three Namibian nationals, aged 40, 41 and 43, were arrested for the possession of dagga and consequently detained at the Philadelphia SAPS department.
They are due to appear in the Atlantis Magistrates court once charged.
