A South African woman was arrested on Sunday morning at OR Tambo International Airport after she expelled over 110 drug bullets, Cape {town} Etc reports.
According to SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, this is the ‘highest number of drug bullets discovered’ at the airport in eight years.

The woman (21) was intercepted after arriving from São Paulo, Brazil, during a joint operation between the SAPS and SARS Customs.
She was taken to a hospital where an X-ray confirmed that she had foreign objects in her stomach.
‘SAPS OR Tambo International Airport say this is more than the average drug bullets that drug mules that are intercepted at the OR Tambo Airport usually carry […] Police are urging people not to go to extreme lengths to risk their lives as this exercise can turn fatal,’ said Mathe.
‘Police are also concerned on the involvement of young women in this type of criminality,’ Mathe added.
The woman appeared before the Kempton Park Magistrate Court on Tuesday, 01 October according to Mathe.

Within the past two months, the woman is the eleventh drug mule arrested at OR Tambo, with the SAPS warning against the life-threatening risks of drug trafficking.
The SAPS has been increasingly intercepting drug traffickers at the airport, including recent cases involving drug mules coming from Namibia and Nigeria into the country.
