A joint operation by SANParks Rangers, City of Cape Town Law Enforcement, and Volunteer Safety Services this weekend led to the detention of two suspects with outstanding cases after they were searched near Military Road, Cape {town} Etc reports.

Additionally, two robberies were reported on the Pipe Track and Deer Park trails in Table Mountain National Park’s northern section, leaving one victim injured.
The five suspects remain at large.
In another incident, at Kloof Nek in Table Mountain National Park, rangers apprehended a visitor attempting to smash a car window and handed him over to SAPS after a report was received via WhatsApp.
To combat crime, SANParks launched a Safety and Awareness Campaign at Table Mountain National Park with SAPS, City Metro Police, SANParks Honorary Rangers, Working on Fire, volunteers, and neighbourhood watch groups.
This two-day campaign, from Friday 8 November to Saturday, 9 November 2024, focused on high-risk areas across the park, including the Northern, Central, and Southern sections.
The campaign aims to enhance visitor safety through preventive measures during the festive season.
SANParks urges park users to exercise caution and to enjoy their outdoor activities between sunrise and sunset.
