The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested suspects in Milnerton and Parkwood that were believed to be in possession of ‘unlicensed and prohibited firearms and ammunition’.
This was according to a SAPS media statement released on Friday, 8 March 2024.

Police members of the Provincial Flying Squad followed information of a firearm stored at ‘an address in Milnerton’, on Wednesday, 6 March 2024.
Upon searching the premises, a hidden ‘9mm pistol with ammunition’ was discovered beneath a fridge that was described as ‘level with the floor’.
A 37-year-old man was detained and charged with ‘possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition’.

Parkwood arrest
On an ‘unrelated intervention’, Grassy Park police members ‘responded to information of firearms being stored at a premises’ within their precinct, on Thursday, 7 March 2024.
After they arrived in Blackbird Street in Parkwood, police members searched the occupants and their residence, when a ’38 special revolver’ was discovered.
It had been inside their Wendy-house, which led to the arrest of an 18-year-old man.
The suspect was charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition, the same charge as the previous suspect.
Both suspects are expected to make court appearances in the Cape Town and Wynberg Magistrates’ courts respectively, on their mentioned charges.
