The SAPS is currently investigating an incident where a 14-year-old girl was gang raped by a group of boys, all under the age of 12, on Friday, 11 October in the vicinity of Yellowwood Street in Tafelsig, Cape {town} Etc reports.

The suspects fled the scene and no arrests have been made yet, with the Mitchells Plain Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit investigating the rape, according to Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, SAPS spokesperson.
‘We appeal to anyone with information to please call Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or alternatively use the mobile application MySAPS anonymously,’ said Swartbooi.
Anroux Marais, Western Cape minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, has also expressed her ‘shock and anger’ regarding the events in correspondence with Cape {town} Etc.
‘I am shocked and angry about these events. We will be following the unfolding court case very closely. I urge anyone with information to contact SAPS immediately. Together, we can beat crime in the Western Cape,’ said Marais.
