Minister of Home Affairs, Leon Schreiber, has proudly reported that the Home Affairs team, has cleared the major backlog of ID applications, which has been accumulating since November of last year Cape {town} Etc reports.

247 500 ID applications had been backlogged since 2023.
On August 21 of this year, the Home Affairs team adopted a plan to eradicate the issue.
Within one month, the team’s strategy proved successful as there are no backlogs at present.
Schreiber further reiterated the goal of reforming Home Affairs into an efficient, world-class organisation which delivers dignity for all.
