Neither the police nor local authorities could confirm whether the flat’s burglary was carried out by a syndicate in the Sea Point area.
Meanwhile, the tourists geolocated their laptops in the Imam Haron, Lansdowne, and Crawford areas but were unable to retrieve their equipment because police did not assist them.
Last week, French tourist Fabien Bazonge took to social media to share his experience after losing his identity book, personal documents, and laptops when an intruder broke into the flat where they were staying.
Bezonge sought assistance from law enforcement through The Atlantic Seaboard Community Forum on Facebook.
He filed a police report and expressed his confusion about how the thieves were able to walk away with their belongings despite the fact that the area had electric fencing and CCTV.
Bezonge told Weekend Argus they had not received feedback from police.

Bezonge stated that the Airbnb flat was on High Level Road in Sea Point but could not provide the correct name. On Monday, he posted on social media: “We are tourists visiting Cape Town and recently experienced a break-in at our Airbnb in Sea Point.
“Someone suggested we share our experience here in the hopes that local residents or the ward councillor can help.”
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed there had yet to be an arrest.
Ward councillor Nicola Jowell stated that she was unaware of any syndicates operating in Sea Point guest houses. She added that police had virtual evidence that could help them apprehend the thieves.
