A search is continuing for three young siblings from Elsies River who have been missing for more than a week, with police appealing to the public for any information that could help locate the children.
The siblings, 7-year-old Alessia Khumalo, 4-year-old Perez Khumalo and one-year-old Atarah Khumalo, were last seen on Monday, 27 July 2026, at their home in Bestenbier Avenue, Elsies River, as reported by The South African.
The disappearance has prompted a missing persons investigation, with authorities working to establish the circumstances surrounding the children’s whereabouts and tracing their movements since they were last seen.
The South African Police Service stated that Bishop Lavis Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) detectives are investigating the matter after opening a missing persons enquiry.
SAPS spokesperson Constable Ndakhe Gwala said:‘The children were last seen on Monday 27 July 2026 with their father, who claimed to be taking them out for ice cream but never returned’.
The case has also drawn attention from missing children organisation The Pink Ladies, which issued an alert calling on members of the public to assist with information that may help bring the siblings home.
At this stage, police have not provided further details about the circumstances surrounding the children’s disappearance, while detectives continue with their investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about the children’s whereabouts, movements or any details that could assist the investigation to come forward.
