The search for Cozette Scheepers (6) has been completely called off, reports Netwerk24. There has been no sign of her for weeks after a car containing a woman and her two children crashed down a cliff in the coastal town.

The bodies of the mother, Heidi (35), and the baby brother, Hugo (2), were found soon after the accident. A memorial service was held for them on Saturday in George.

“Sporadic patrols are still being conducted along the coast, and we are still asking people to report any floating objects they see in the water,” said Captain Malcom Pojie, Southern Cape police spokesperson.

The family, including father Ettienne, were out on a trip to the beach on October 22, after which he returned home alone. The rest of the family had said they would follow later. When they did not come home he reported them as missing. No explanation as to why the mother and children were in that specific area near the cliff has come to the fore thus far. Condolences are pouring in after the tragedy.
