The South African Police Service (SAPS) activated a 72-hour plan as Khayelitsha detectives search for gunmen after a shooting incident in the area.
Three people came under fire in Khayelitsha’s Site C on Monday afternoon [August 3]. Two people died at the scene of the crime, while the third victim was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.
“The police have activated the 72-hour plan which mobilises resources for the arrest of the assailants. Detectives are hard at work in an effort to apprehend the perpetrators,” said SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa via a statement. She did not stipulate what the events were that lead up to the incident.
