The City’s Fire and Rescue Services responded to a person who was trapped under a MyCiti bus in Adderley Street, just after noon today.

It is alleged that the man is a security guard who was knocked over by the MyCiti bus while riding his bicycle, and became trapped beneath the bus as a result.

“Upon arrival officers used the Jaws of Life and performed a rapid extrication due to the patient’s condition,” said City spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse. “A secondary survey was done on the patient and he was transported to a nearby hospital via ambulance.”

The patient’s condition is yet unknown, and it is unclear what his injuries are.
