This year marks the fifth year of the Orms x Canon photography competition, which has become a coveted opportunity among photographers.
The platform allows photographers to showcase their work at an international level, win incredible prizes and advance their creative careers, reports Cape {town} Etc.

This year, Canon, Orms, Orms Print Room & Framing and Orms Cape Town School of Photography partnered up to offer competitors prizes to the value of R100 000.
Competitors were also offered the chance to showcase their work at an exhibition to be hosted at the Sea Point Promenade, granting them access to tens of thousands of viewers.
First Place
Broekman won the first prize of the 2024 competition. In total he received a Canon camera valued at R52 090, a R6 000 Orms Print Room & Framing voucher and a R4 000 Orms Cape Town School of Photography voucher.

The theme of this year, ‘Wonders Through Focus’ challenged participants to beauty which is less overt, beauty which is sometimes hidden from our gaze and requires a focus on the microcosms.
Thousands of photographers entered into the competition and entries continually prove how vibrant and diverse the photographic community is.
Third place
Canon’s Product Marketing Manager Roger Machin, Orms’ Managing Director Jason Ormrod and SJ Artists Founder Shani Judes served on the panel of judges where each submission was scrutinised.

Student Prize
Adams received a Canon camera to the value of R18 995, a R5 000 Orms Print Room & Framing voucher and a R4 000 Orms Cape Town School of Photography voucher.
Selected Top 20
The work of the photographers, as seen below, will be showcased at an exhibition on the Sea Point Promenade where locals are invited to share in the microscopic beauty captured.
