The City of Cape Town Traffic Service urges motorists to be cautious on the roads as the continuous downpour is causing widespread flooding and obstructions across the city.
The following areas are affected:

Flooding on Boyes Drive – use alternative routes
- The Cannon River has burst its banks and is flooding across Newlands Avenue, pouring down several Newlands Village roads and lower Kildare. Palmyra Road, outside Palmyra Junction, is completely flooded.
- The Liesbeek, Lotus and Eerste Rivers have all begun to burst its banks.

- Jan Smuts Drive flooded, around Athlone Police Station—approach with caution.
- Flooding in Fish Hoek – Valley Land Shopping Centre
- Main Road, Kalk Bay
- Argo Road, Wetton completely flooded – use alternative routes
- Nelson Mandela Boulevard inbound at Strand Street – right lane obstructed
- Flooding on Philip Kgosana Drive (M3) Eastbound, Upper Roodebloem – approach with caution
- Lane closed on N2 inbound at Borcherds Quarry ramp
- Ottery Road Wynberg off-road from M5 – approach with caution
- Flooding at Hypermarket in Ottery – approach with caution
- Flooding at Newlands Cricket Grounds
- Avoid Bree Street – A tree has fallen over. Service teams have started the process of clearing the debris and restoring access to the affected area.
