Local outlets reported that some posts, described as jokey in tone, started negative responses from followers and critics.
In one clip she wrote: ‘People in the Epstein files, watching Iran’s attacks hijack the headlines’. In other posts she added, ‘God bless the people of Iran’ and ‘God bless the people of the UAE‘, these started a wave of replies online.
One clip that drew attention showed Naidoo with a sparkling-drinks caption that many readers found ill-judged given recent regional deaths.
Critics flooded her messages: ‘Do you enjoy the way Muslim men treat their wives? Please marry one and may your days be filled with hell,’ one direct message read.
Naidoo has since acknowledged and apologised for her Gaza comments on social media (Click here to watch) that the posts had consequences and that she was dealing with the fallout, while some commentators urged public figures to use care when discussing violent events.
The broader military context for the posts stems from recent strikes and counterstrikes across the region.
The reaction also reopened discussion of Naidoo’s earlier run-ins with public opinion and travel bans after previous Middle East comments, which remain part of her public record.
‘I have learned a lot from this,’ one older report quoted.
