Six individuals face charges of murder, illegal possession of firearms, and the illegal possession of ammunition after they were caught dumping bodies on Strandfontein Beach last week.

Charl Kruger, Mfaniseli Mkhehle, Gert Adam, Angelo Beukes and Lee-Martin Daniels all appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, April 2. Their cases, however, have been posted until April 6 to obtain information relating to possible bail applications.

Initially, four suspects between the ages of 26 and 54 were arrested by Law Enforcement Marine Officers who were patrolling through the Bay View area of Strandfontein.

According to a previous statement by City of Cape Town Law Enforcement spokesperson Wayne Dyason, the officers spotted the four males walking towards the ocean and decided to approach the suspicious men.

Officers found two male bodies covered in blood-soaked blankets when they investigated the suspects’ vehicle. “Further investigation revealed another body of a male in the vehicle (bakkie),” he said.

According to Western Cape South African Police Services (SAPS) spokesperson Noloyiso Rwexana, two additional suspects – aged 45 and 56 respectively – were arrested. All six appeared in the dock on Thursday.

Provincial police spokesperson Novela Potelwa revealed that information received from the suspects upon interrogation led police to a house in Eerste River. The house is believed to be the crime scene.

Anyone with information can call their nearest police station, or Crime Stop at 0860010111.
