Springbok rugby captain Siya Kolisi and his wife, Rachel Kolisi, have announced their divorce in an unexpected Instagram post, leaving South Africans stunned.

‘While our relationship as a couple is changing, we remain great friends and committed partners in raising our children with the same love and care they’ve always known,’ the post stated.
‘We will also continue working together on the Foundation (sic) that means so much to us,’ the post added.
The couple has stated that they are grateful for the ‘love, understanding, and support’ they have received and has asked for the public to respect their choices as they navigate the transition.
The Kolisis have been a symbol of love and partnership, with Siya rising to international stardom as the first black captain of South Africa’s national rugby team, leading the Springboks to World Cup victory twice.
Rachel, a businesswoman and philanthropist affectionately known to locals as the Springbok First Lady, has been a steadfast figure by his side, frequently championing social causes and co-founding the Kolisi Foundation with Siya with a ‘vision to change the change the stories of inequality in South Africa.’
