Contractors working on a new section of the mall roof reported that a piece of insulation caught fire, reports Cape {town} Etc.
It was immediately then brought under control. Affected areas were evacuated until the Fire Department provided clearance, and normal operations have since resumed.
‘Our tenants have resumed trading as their business wasn’t impacted,’ said Donald Kau, Head of Communication, V&A Waterfront.
