A bomb scare at Somerset Mall prompted an immediate evacuation after a threatening note was reportedly discovered in a restroom, with the police bomb squad en route to investigate, Cape {town} Etc reports.

Police spokesperson, Captain FC Van Wyk, confirmed that the incident took place at 11:45am.
‘Today at about 11:45 a hand written message against the tiles of a rest room at a shopping mall in Somerset West was found of a bomb in the mall.’
‘Police were informed and the mall was evacuated. K9 and Bomb Disposal Unit swept the mall and at 13:16, the mall was declare as safe.’
‘The shopping mall was reopen for business.’
‘No injuries is reported,’ said Van Wyk.
As of 2pm, the mall has since reopened and police have given the all clear, according to the Helderberg Gazette.
A video was shared in the community news group, Cape Town News & Traffic, that shows the mall being evacuated, with SAPS on the scene.
This comes after a recent bomb scare at the Bellville transport interchange on Monday, which disrupted operations near the taxi rank, according to SANTACO Western Cape.
The matter is still under investigation and it is not yet clear if the two incidents are linked.
