Former Expresso presenter Katlego Maboe is trending yet again after old adverts for his collaboration with men’s fragrance Playboy resurfaced on social media.
Maboe has been a brand ambassador for the Playboy Signature collection since 2019, although TV With Thinus reports that his contract ended in August 2020.

After an image of an old in-store poster of Maboe modelling the fragrance was posted to Twitter, social media users were quick to call the collaboration “ironic”

This comes after Maboe was embroiled in a cheating scandal following the release of a video on social media that quickly went viral. In the video, his then-partner Monique Muller, who is also the mother of his child, accuses him of having an affair.
Maboe admits to cheating on her and names Nikita Murray as the woman he was having an affair with. Muller further alleges that he gave her an STD, and that she might not be able to have another child because of it.
Murray released a statement denying the claims that she gave Maboe an STD that he then gave to his wife.
“Due to these allegations, Mrs Murray had undergone a medical test to confirm that she has no sexually transmitted disease. The claims by Mr Maboe that Mrs Murray was the cause of him contracting the STD as accused of by the person who made the video, is therefore irresponsible and impossible,” said Murray’s lawyer, Vincent Bergh of Liquor Law and Business Consultants.
