Jake White has been sacked as Vodacom Bulls director of rugby following a breakdown in relations between the former Springbok coach and senior players.
White’s future at Loftus had been under intense scrutiny, with reports that players and coaches issued an ultimatum to the Bulls board: either White goes, or we go.
Captain Ruan Nortje and fellow Springbok Marcell Coetzee reportedly led a delegation that met with management to express their dissatisfaction with White’s leadership, citing his public criticism of players and controversial comments after the Vodacom URC final loss to Leinster.
The Bulls board met on Friday to review the 2024-25 season and map out plans for next season.
Johan Ackermann, the former Lions boss currently involved with the Junior Boks, has been linked to the Bulls job.
