Hisense South Africa has taken a significant step towards empowering the next generation of footballers by donating 100 mobile devices, worth R200,000, to the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football (PMYF).
This donation, made on Friday, is set to promote improved programme coordination, player management, and digital accessibility within the organisation’s extensive national network.
The move aligns seamlessly with Hisense SA’s commitment to youth development and community upliftment.
This initiative follows the brand’s sponsorship of a rising South African soccer star in October 2025, reaffirming Hisense’s dedication to fostering local sporting excellence.
PMYF has emerged as one of South Africa’s most impactful sporting development institutions. Currently, the organisation trains over 12,000 young players across the country, operating in collaboration with 18 partner schools and three community clubs, while utilising the expertise of 92 qualified coaches.
With a mission to deliver a world-class youth football development programme, PMYF focuses on transforming players, coaches, and institutions through structured coaching, holistic education, and leadership systems.

Amongst its array of offerings, PMYF runs:
- A community-based club programme providing structured and competitive training for boys and girls aged 6 to 17,
- A CAPS-aligned school-based programme that integrates football within the school curriculum, and
- Open-access holiday clinics that offer professional coaching and life-skills training in safe and inclusive environments.
Deputy General Manager of Hisense South Africa, Luna Nortje remarked on the significance of this partnership: ‘Pitso Mosimane Youth Football represents the very best of South African potential. Their commitment to structured development, mentorship, and opportunity mirrors our own values at Hisense SA. By equipping their coaches with the tools they need, we are investing in the next generation of champions: on and off the field,’
Coach Pitso Mosimane expressed gratitude for the donation, stating: ‘Our mission has always been to transform young lives and create the player of tomorrow through access, opportunity, and structured football development. Tools like these devices empower our coaches to work smarter, track progress more effectively, and ultimately serve the 12,000 young players who depend on us. We are deeply grateful to Hisense SA and the Chinese Embassy for investing in our vision and helping us build the future of South African football,’
This strategic partnership was championed by the Chinese Embassy in South Africa, under the leadership of Ambassador Wu Peng, who has been instrumental in promoting people-to-people and sports exchanges between China and South Africa.
Ambassador Wu’s commitment to enhancing these relations through sport reflects a broader diplomatic vision of cooperation that benefits both nations.
By translating this vision into action, the collaboration stands as more than just a sponsorship; it serves as a unifying effort to harness the universal appeal of football, aiming to inspire and develop young talent while showcasing the potential for strategic cooperation in community development.
