Qatar Airways is giving Formula 1 fans another way to build a race weekend into their travel plans, with new stopover packages combining flights, hotel accommodation and three-day access to the 2026 Qatar Grand Prix.
The new offering is aimed at travellers passing through Doha (Hamad International Airport ), allowing them to turn a stopover into a longer stay around the Formula 1 weekend at Lusail International Circuit.
As outlined in its latest announcement, Qatar Airways Holidays is adding a three-day T16 Grandstand ticket to selected Qatar Stopover packages for the FORMULA 1® QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2026.
The packages are designed around travel dates from 27 to 29 November 2026, with the race ticket included after travellers select their flights and preferred accommodation.
The T16 Grandstand is positioned in the final sector of the Lusail International Circuit, giving spectators views of one of the circuit’s key sections during the race weekend.
The Qatar Airways Holidays packages will be available across four categories: Standard, Premium, Luxury and Premium Beach.
The stopover offering includes flexible 24-hour hotel check-in and check-out, while travellers can add experiences such as city tours, beach club visits and other destination activities.
That means the Formula 1 weekend can be paired with time exploring Doha’s food scene, cultural attractions and hospitality offerings rather than being limited to the circuit.
Qatar Airways Holidays said the Formula 1-inclusive stopover packages are expected to become available for booking later this month, subject to availability and applicable terms and conditions.
The new stopover option sits alongside Qatar Airways Holidays’ existing Formula 1 fan packages, which include flights, accommodation and race tickets.
The airline is the Global Partner and Official Airline of Formula 1, and the latest package expands access to the Qatar Grand Prix for passengers travelling through its network for either business or leisure.
For members of the airline’s Privilege Club, eligible bookings can also earn Avios and Qpoints. Members can additionally use Cash + Avios when booking qualifying holiday packages.
The 2026 Qatar Grand Prix will give international visitors another reason to combine a sporting event with a stay in Doha, with the stopover packages effectively bringing the race into an existing travel itinerary.
For South African travellers heading further afield, the option could also appeal to those looking to combine an international flight connection with a major motorsport weekend, although availability, routing and package pricing will depend on the individual booking.
Qatar Airways Holidays operates in more than 100 countries and offers flight-and-hotel packages, cruises, tours, transfers and stopovers across its wider holiday portfolio.
The Formula 1-inclusive packages are expected to be available through Qatar Airways Holidays later this month.
