Locals will once again be left in the dark today as Eskom has announced Stage 4 rotational load shedding will be taking place from 9am to 11pm.

Eskom once again says the power cuts are being implemented “due to a shortage of capacity”.

“During Stage 4 load shedding, approximately 80% of the country’s demand is still being met.”

Maintenance teams at Eskom are working around the clock to return generation units to the power grid.

Stage 4 involves 4000MW being shed nationally during given periods of time.

Residents are encouraged, as always, to treat all electrical points as live during load shedding.

“We appeal to customers to switch off geysers during the day as well as non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand.”

Locals can check the load shedding scheduled for their area here or by contacting Eskom on 0860 037 566.

Regular updates on the status of the power system will be provided through all media platforms.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience during this difficult period.”
