Standard Bank has transformed access to unclaimed assets by launching a new app feature that helps clients reclaim dividends, pensions, and insurance benefits – often overlooked and hard to access until now, Cape {town} Etc reports.

With approximately R89 billion in unclaimed funds across South Africa, the bank partnered with Robin Hood, a digital solutions company powered by Standard Bank and founded by experts in finance, banking and tech innovation, committed to helping South Africans reclaim what’s owed to them.
FA News highlights that through Standard Bank’s app, clients with unclaimed benefits registered will receive automatic notifications upon logging in.
Those who believe they may have unclaimed benefits don’t need to reach out – Standard Bank will proactively alert users as more pension funds, insurers and share schemes are added to the system.
BusinessTech reports that around 8 million South Africans stand to benefit.
‘In a nation grappling with poverty, this access can empower people to invest in their futures and boost the economy,’ said Robin Hood CEO Rowan Gordon.
