Dylan Georgiades, a student at Stellenbosch University, was killed in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, 11 February.

Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk confirmed to AfriNUUS that Dylan was involved in an accident at 12.30am on Saturday morning. He was transferred to hospital, but died of his injuries.
Van Wyk said that a case of culpable homicide is being investigated, but no one has been arrested yet.
Tyger Valley College took to Facebook to express their devastation of what had happened to Dylan, who was the head boy at TVC in 2021.
Marin Viljoen, spokesperson for Stellenbosch University, expressed the institution’s shock in hearing of the second-year’s death.
“The student died this morning (February 11) after he was run over by a car on Friday evening (February 10) in Merriman Avenue in Stellenbosch.”
Prof Deresh Ramjugernath, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Learning and Teaching, says that “the death of a student is always difficult for the university community and all the more sad as students are about to start classes on Monday.”
