CUBL forms part of SU’s Finance division and a team of professional financial aid practitioners, supporting prospective and current undergraduate students who wish to apply for financial aid by granting and administering bursaries sustainably.
“Financial need should not keep a prospective student from enrolling at SU,” says Bianca Andrews, CUBL Bursary Officer. “Once a prospective student has been offered provisional admission to a programme and received a student number, the student should explore the funding options available on our new website here.”
Andrews says SU does not only award bursaries on financial need, but also on academic merit.
She encouraged students to visit the website since “We have many external donor bursaries available, and students should investigate whether they qualify for those. We also encourage current undergraduate students whose family financial situation may have changed over the past year, or who will have a second and/or third sibling enrol at the University for the upcoming academic year, to review the funding options available and to apply for financial aid”.
Students who want to apply for funding need to do so via the my.sun.ac.za portal link and can visit the CUBL website for more information on the funding options available.
Note that late admissions will only be granted a 20-day extension up to 30 November 2022. For queries, contact the student Client Contact Centre at 021 808 9111.
