Four suspects are due to appear in court following the murder of a Stellenbosch University student earlier this week., Cape {town} Etc reports.

The 19-year-old first-year student was robbed and stabbed at approximately 3am on Wednesday.
It is believed that the victim was riding his bicycle down Borcherd Road in Stellenbosch when he was accosted, stabbed in the neck and robbed of his personal belongings.
He succumbed to the fatal stab wound to the neck.
‘Intricate investigation by Stellenbosch detectives in collaboration with Crime Intelligence led to the arrest of a 19-year-old male suspect within hours of the commission of the crime,’ said police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie.
‘He is scheduled to make his first court appearance in the Stellenbosch Magistrates’ court today,’
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Stellenbosch Crime Prevention arrested three more suspects, two males aged 29 and 28, as well as a 31-year-old female in Cloetesville, Stellenbosch. They are scheduled to make their court appearance once charged.
Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen (Adv.) Thembisile Patekile, has lauded the efforts of Stellenbosch SAPS in collaboration with Crime Intelligence and detectives who apprehended four perpetrators involved in the murder.
The Stellenbosch University (SU) community released a statement expressing shock and sadness following the student’s murder in the early hours of Wednesday.
Professor Deresh Ramjugernath, deputy vice-chancellor for Learning and Teaching, stated that the loss of a beautiful young life, especially in such tragic circumstances, always shocks the university community.
‘Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and classmates at this extremely difficult moment of loss. We wish them all the strength during this difficult period of grieving and would like them to know that they have the support of the SU community,’ Professor Ramjugernath said.
