The areas of Strandfontein and Mitchells Plain are expected to have an electricity outage on Friday, 6 September, between 9am and 4pm.
The outage will arise as a result of critical maintenance work by the City, on the electricity infrastructure in Strandfontein.

The City’s Electricity Generation and Distribution Department has informed locals of the planned electricity maintenance and has apologised for inconvenience caused.

The City has further advised that the outage duration is merely an estimation and maintenance procedures could face delays due to the complicated nature of the infrastructure work.
The team, however, remains committed to completing all the work within the allocated timeslot.
Should power not be restored within the projected timeframes, residents are urged to check the City’s official communication channels, which includes social media channels.

Lastly, the electricity supply may be restored at any given time. Thereby, customers are advised to treat all electrical installations as live for the dull duration of the scheduled outage.
Appliances should be switched off, where possible, as a precautionary measure to avoid potential damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
