We have known for a long time that The Test Kitchen is special. Since its opening in 2010, it has been an unstoppable force. The innovative food, numerous awards and constant praise have turned the little restaurant in Woodstock into a legendary spot of epic proportions.

On Monday, The Test Kitchen was awarded 22nd place on the World’s Best Restaurant 2016 list adding another (well deserved) feather in its cap, whilst also boosting Cape Town as a world class foodie destination to visit. It has moved up six places from last year, and is the only African restaurant to crack the top 50.

According to The World’s Best 50 site, the chief reason to visit The Test Kitchen is chef-patron Luke Dale-Roberts. He is describes as a rock star chef, combining culinary braggadocio and classical technique. Congrats to The Test Kitchen. If you haven’t had the pleasure of eating there, book now. The months you spend on the waiting list is worth it.
