The sale agreement of the mansion belonging to the Gupta family since 2005 and later repossessed by the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in 2021, was confirmed yesterday, 2 March 2023.
According to The South African, Hardie Property’s agent Richard Huxham-Hardie confirmed the property was no longer on the market and that the sale had been confirmed.
The sole agent did not disclose how much the mansion was purchased for but Hardie said, “multiple offers on the property were received” in spite of its state of disrepair.
It was confirmed that the manor with seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, two garages and a cottage was purchased at a cheaper price than the market value.
While the foundation of the home is still solid a lot of work will need to be done.
“The structure is safe, it’s sound. So, I think someone can take the structure of it. Obviously, it needs a new roof, and everything inside needs to be stripped back but I believe the structure of the property is solid,” said Hardie.
