Hiking is always a fun activity to get up to in the Mother City. Getting lost in the mountains, however, is not so much fun. Thankfully, the City is blessed with the best because of the stellar work that Air Mercy Service provides to the poor and unfortunate adventurers who get lost.
Unfortunately, one such adventurer found himself a little too far off the beaten track this morning while hiking Table Mountain. We reckon it was the incredible views that had something to with it. However, “all’s well that ends well” as the lost hiker was picked up earlier this morning by the Western Cape Department of Health EMS/AMS rescue helicopter.
Even more incredible is the fact that this rescue markets Ayesha Allies’ 100th rescue as AMS external load operator! Despite the challenging conditions, Allies and her team managed to pull off a successful rescue, making it look effortless in the process.
